Length of stay in Thailand

Before the surgery
You must stop smoking tobacco products, consuming alcohol, taking any medications and vitamins 2 weeks before the date of the surgery. In addition, you must fast 8 hours before the surgery which means you should not eat anything on the day of the surgery.

Surgery process
Before considering facelift surgery it is also important that you have clear and realistic expectations to what you wish to achieve. You should consult with the doctor about which parts can be treated effectively and the saggy skin of which parts will be left. Even though facelift can tighten your facial skin, it cannot result in everyone. The effectiveness of facelift depends on skin condition and muscle structure of each patient. For the surgery, facelift is performed under general anesthesia. The incision begins above the hairline at the temple, following the natural line in front of the ear, curve behind the earlobe into the crease behind the ear, and into the scalp. Most of the scars will be hidden within the hairline. The scars in front of the ear will be only seen and will be gradually diminish as the wound recovers. The other scars will be hidden neatly within the hairline.
After the surgery
Swelling cannot be definitely defined because each case is different from the other. However, much of the swelling is expected to subside at least 2-3 weeks after the procedure, although some patients present with much less swelling 1-2 weeks after surgery. Going back to work will depend on the type of job the patient has. If she works in an office or such, then she can go back around 2 weeks after the operation. But if she works in a place where she is exposed to dust or heat most of the time, then she will have to wait around 3-4 weeks.
