Candidate for Sex Change Female to Male:
There are 2 requirements that a candidate for female to male gender reassignment and breast surgery need to meet as follow:
- 12 months of continuous hormonal therapy for those without a medical contraindication.
- 12 months of successful continuous full time real-life experience. Periods of returning to the original gender may indicate ambivalence about proceeding and should not be used to fulfill this criterion.
- Regular sessions may be required by the mental health professional throughout the real life experience at a minimum frequency determined by the mental health professional with psychotherapy.

After you have passed a psychological evaluation, below are some preparation tips for you to follow prior to your surgical procedure:
- You should refrain from smoking 2 weeks before and after the surgery.
- You should refrain from drinking 2 weeks before and after the surgery, too.
- You should refrain from taking any medications, such aspirin, homeopathic or herbal preparation medicines or any other forms of medicines or even vitamins for 2 weeks before and after the surgery.
- Stop taking hormones at least 2 weeks before the surgery.

Female to male Gender Reassignment Surgery Process:
It consists of 3 stages as follow:
- Stage 1 (6 nights stay in the hospital)

After Sex Change Female to male Surgery:
After the surgery, the patient will be under the surgeon’s close supervision and he will inform you of everything you need to know. The following post-operative care guidelines should be observed:
- You should be able to be up and about in 5-7 days.
- 2 weeks after surgery return for a follow-up check and removal of stitches.
- You should not engage in sexual intercourse until at least 2 months after the surgery.

The incision for mastectomy will depend on the patient's breast size. Ideally, and if the breasts are not big, the incision is made only in the inframammary fold along the skin crease with some liposuction done to remove excess fatty breast tissue. But if the breasts are large, the scar will be around the areola and an inverted T-shaped scar extending from the nipple down to the inframammary fold so that excess skin is also removed.

For Total Abdominal Hysterectomy with Bilateral Salphingooophorectomy, the incision is made in the lower abdomen. The penis of a genetic male is made up of specialized blood vessels which fill-up with blood during sexual arousal thus causing erection. Therefore, it cannot achieve erection.
