tummy tuck

Candidate
Tummy Tuck Bangkok is recommended for people with a large fat deposit or loose abdominal skin that does not respond to exercise and diet OR people with stretch marks from pregnancy. If you are overweight, you should lose weight as much as possible before having tummy tuck because there is also the possibility of more sagging skin and overweight can put higher risk of complications.

Length of stay in Thailand
Tummy tuck will require you to stay in Thailand approximately 10-14 days to complete the whole process and fully recover after the surgery. This is included:

1) 1 night in the hotel before the surgery, this will help lower down your blood pressure and for your body to re-adjust to the new environment before the surgery

2) 3 nights stay in the hospital after the surgery

3) The follow up 7 days after the surgery, for removing stitches and the post surgery check up

Within these range of stay you are allowed to have enough time to recovery before flying back to your home country.

However, you can of course stay in Thailand longer than the period recommended so you can combine your surgery with your vacation while recovering. You are also offered a great package deal to visit beautiful beach in Hua-Hin, which is located in the gulf of Thailand, if you are interested please complete inquiry form and we will send you the brochures for more information.

Before the surgery

You must stop smoking tobacco products, consuming alcohol, taking any medications and vitamins 2 weeks before the date of the surgery. In addition, you must fast 8 hours before the surgery which means you should not eat anything on the day of the surgery.
It is also important that you understand the procedure and the potential risk and complications

Surgery process

The surgeon will make a long incision from hipbone to hipbone just above the pubic area. A second incision is made to free the navel from the surrounding tissue. The surgeon will then separate the skin from the abdominal wall and tighten the vertical abdominal muscles by pulling them close together and stitch them into their new position. Next the extra skin is removed before the incision is stitched.

Tummy tuck will be done under general anesthesia and normally takes 2-3 hours to perform.

After the surgery

After the surgery, a medical binder is provided for the patient so that the tummy will get enough support immediately after surgery. You may feel sore, swollen and bruised in about one week. You may be able return to work after 2-4 weeks depending on your physical condition. If you are physically fit before the surgery, you are likely to recover from tummy tuck much faster.

Q&A

How will the scar look?
A tummy tuck will give a permanent scar from hipbone to hipbone just above the pubic area. However, the scar will not be visible under most clothing including bathing suits. The scar may appear to worsen during the first 3-6 months as they heal. After 9-12 months the scars flatten out and lighten in color

What are the risks and complications?

Tummy tuck is considered a safe procedure, but as with any kind of surgery there are certain risks and complications associated with a tummy tuck. Infection and blood clots are very rare, but possible, complications.

Can tummy tuck remove stretch marks?

Stretch mark results when the skin will not return back into its pure state if it has been stretched by rapid growth due to pregnancy and weight gain. During a tummy tuck much of the skin below the belly button is removed, therefore stretch marks in this area are also removed.

Can a patient with diabates and high blood pressure be a candidate for tummy tuck?

Having both diabetes and high blood pressure puts the patient at a higher risk for complications during and after surgery since both conditions cause delay in wound healing.  But if these conditions are in a controlled state then he/she may have the surgery.
